Fun experience, entertaining Chef, and great kitchen
This was a fun 4 hours cooking school.
We did the Pasta, Risotto & Tiramisu experience. The kitchen was super modern and very spacious - there are 6 large benches and you share 2 people per bench. Chef Allessandro is very passionate and entertaining to watch and listen to - he taught us many tips and tricks.
Spoiler alert: you don't get to make your own risotto. You simply watch Allessandro cook it at his cooking station which was quite small and you're all packed around it so you have to keep walking up to see what he's doing. Same with the tomato sauce which goes with the pasta - he cooks it at the front in a single pot. It was super delicious though.
The tiramisu was excellent and we spent a lot of time learning the techniques and it turned out to be fabulous. This was probably my favourite part.
I was disappointed with the pasta - it seems they choose one of 2 types: tagliatelle or gnocchetti. Our class got the gnocchetti which is little "pillows" of dough like gnocchi which are quite stodgy to eat and not as much fun to make as tagliatelle.
The experience says that you get a welcome glass of wine/apertif - we were not given this. We were only given white sparkling wine once we sat down for lunch so you don't get very much.
Overall it was a good experience and very well run. Booking was super easy, and the meeting point was easy to find and only a 2 minute walk from there to the kitchen.
But disappointed with the lack of wine and that we didn't get to have hands on making the risotto.

Not suitable for solo female traveller
I recently booked this class, however I was to meet the group at the meeting point. There I was met by the chef, who was walking me down a really quiet lane way to the location. I actually didn’t attend the class as I didn’t feel comfortable going down a quiet laneway on my own with the chef I didn’t know. I’m sure it was a great class but just not ideal set up for a solo female traveller.
